Saturday Gaming prospects?

Tonight at Dragon's Lair, in between sundry conquests in Endeavor, I was contemplating my weekend plans. My new home has a large kitchen island that is big enough for playing Arkham Horror, among other things, as well as a dining table that seats 8. Then there's the family room and living room for smaller, comfier gaming.

So, I'd like to offer up my house for gaming this weekend. So far, I'm free Saturday or Sunday, so I'm interested in learning people's preferences for which day. I have an Xbox 360 and a ps3, as well. so if anyone wants to avail themselves of those goodies, I can oblige. I do have Rock Band with drums, guitar, and mic, as well. So if anyone has the newer rock band games they want to take for a spin, that's also an option.

ETA: I have two cats. So if anyone has allergies, that is something for consideration!

Emergency Gaming?

We haven't had gaming in a few weekends, so I'm thinking there may be some possibilities. Jacqui and I will host an afternoon session (1pm until whenever), assuming that people are interested. And what do we have to offer? ... Well, look at those cute little fellas. They are from Jacqui's new game. It will be here....

UPDATE -- TaoffEnuff is level 10, so I created the SABG clan!

Some kind of wonderful

Just reminding everyone (since my last post is pretty far down) that I'll be hosting gaming this saturday from 9:30 am on. Please RSVP -- if nobody is showing up (or not until later) then I'll hit the gym in the morning. Those feet don't blister themselves...

Update -- OK, make that 12:30.

Something wonderful

Something is coming ... no not him. How about a game. Specifically, a longer, wargamey-er thing. Chris and I were discussing either 7 Ages or Here I Stand (perhaps the tournament scenario) this saturday. Anyone else interested?

Update -- Well, it doesn't look like we've got a quorum for either one. So I'll open the house for general gaming starting at 10am.

Saturday Gaming with a Celebrity

Jacqui and I will host this Saturday from 10:00 am (or perhaps a touch earlier) until whenever. And perhaps we can entice the Chit Chatter of Today. Or perhaps not.

Update: Borders has BSG for $40. And those of you who have Borders Rewards can get it for under $30. So there will be a copy here. Just in case.

Werewolves unite! (now with new and improved start time change)

Kind of werewolfy, I suppose.

So the weekend is getting close. I don't have a feel yet for who's around this weekend and who wants to play something. I wondered for a moment whether Michael could play this weekend if he has to mod the game, but then I realized I have a computer if he or anyone else needs it.

So, I can pretty much play either day. Saturday would be preferable, because with Florida/Alabama at 3pm and Oklahoma/Missouri at 7pm, I don't see myself getting much work done on Saturday even if we don't play games. Ergo, might as well play games.

I'll be here slightly earlier start than normal (9am 10am Saturday morning) so that we can get some board games played before football. Hopefully I will have made my store run Friday night instead of trying to do it Saturday morning, which never works.

Oh, and Dennis, the UPS guy brought by some goodies. A whole case of them, in fact.

P.S. Please don't lynch/nightkill the host. It's not polite.

EDIT: Getting up this morning reminds me that I hate crawling out of bed early when it's cold. I'm probably not the only one. Let's make it 10AM instead of 9AM.

Weekend Planning

Let's do it one more time.

Steve reminded me that there's a really good slate of games on Saturday. I'm gone for the next couple of weekends, so I'll host once again for this one. I'd like to play some board games, so anyone who wants to show up at 10am is welcome to join me. The usual football/Rock Band tango will start at 11:30.

Saturday Morning Gaming

CANCELED

Jeff is sick, so we're going to have to cancel today's gaming at our house. --Amy

In honor of Classic Rob's presence, we'll be throwing open the doors to the Clan Wiles fortress for some Saturday morning gaming. Things will get started around 9 AM, but sadly we'll have to call it quits around 2 PM or so.

RSVP and request specific games in the comments.

Gaming Sat at Chris'

...or Jeff's, or wherever. I'll be in town this Sat, and I'm in the mood for some gaming (and maybe...MAYBE, a bit of RB2 on the side). Jeff, I can bring Monastery, among other things. I'm sure Agricola will see some play. Of course that is, assuming someone is actually hosting.

Oh, in case you were wondering, that pic is just a half a mile away from where I live. I only had some minor roof, fence, and tree damage. I'm not complaining.

A Mighty Wind

... appears to have passed us by. Yet some of you will need to fill those anxious hours before midnight. So I hereby decree that I will open Casa de Bankler from 6:30 pm until such time as people see fit to leave for gaming. Given that it's last minute, I don't expect a huge crowd, but RSVP in the comments.

What I did on my summer vacation

Not much, really. Went on a cruise. Messed up my shoulder. Played some games. And now that my summer vacation is over, I guess I'll play some more games. Jacqui and I will host this Saturday from 9am until whenever. RSVP in the comments.

(Try to RSVP if you can make it so I know what to get.)

Saturday planning post

Is it too early to start thinking about the weekend?

A few weeks back, I mentioned I was looking to have a Mare Nostrum game at my house this Saturday. The response was underwhelming. Therefore I'm sorry to report there will not be an MN game at my house this Saturday.

To salve my wounds, I managed to arrange for an all-day Rommel-a-thon with long-lost SABGer Mark.

If others are planning any Saturday gaming, post in the comments. As always, DL is open. I assume w/o checking that the D&D mania has ebbed to a low roar, so DL might be safe for general gaming.

Something weekend this way comes

Yeah, ok, so I'm not going to win any awards with the post title.

But the weekend approaches and Cthulu is on the brain.

My short list of games to play on Saturday includes:
Arkham Horror + n expansions
Twilight Imperium 3 (really starting to crave this one)
Blackbeard
Combat Commander

People are welcome to come over Saturday morning at 9am. I think a fair number of people are out so the numbers may be small, but I am undaunted.

Weekend planning

Alright, which one of you wiseguys forgot to put up a Saturday planning post?

Oh, that might have been me.

A little later than usual, but I'll host this weekend. The good news is that the roads ought to be clear since everyone in San Antonio will be at DL for the unveiling of D&D 4.0. (Really, why does D&D have a number-point-number designation? It's not a computer program. Just saying...) I'll open at the usual 9am until whenever. No specific games planned as far as I know. I personally am in a cubes mood again, so I wouldn't turn down Shogun, Caylus Magna Carta, Traders of Genoa, or The Big, but I don't actually own any of them either. I do own baseball, Power Grid, Notre Dame, and Pillars + expansion (baseball doesn't have cubes, but I'd play it).
I'd also play Combat Commander, but one of my counter sheets is miscut and I'm still waiting for the replacement in the mail, so someone else would have to bring it. We may also have enough to run Descent. Post if you can make it.

Saturday Planning

It's FINALLY arriving. Descent: Road to Legend, the game that promises to bring true meaning to life, solve the global warming crisis, and spread peace throughout the entire world (or so I've heard), should be here Friday evening according to the FedEx website. So Ben and I are doing our little Homer Simpson happy dances and are planning to play Saturday morning.

The game needs exactly five players- the evil baddie (Ben, at least for the first game) and four heroes (me, so far). Steve and Jon said they might play, so that leaves a spot if anyone wants to join in. So we'll take volunteers (disclaimer, as always- we understand this is not everyone's cup of tea). We'd ideally like someone who can play regularly (probably just on Saturdays, not Mondays), as this will take a few hours at a time but will do so across several sessions. The beauty of this game, though, is that we can substitute people in and out and even play with fewer sometimes if we have to. And of course, we'll teach it to anyone who wants to learn- no experience required.

There will also be other gaming. Probably baseball. Maybe Rock Band (if Michael gets his new XBox) or Smash Bros. (if someone brings a Wii...and the game).

(Tenatively planning on usual 9am start at my place unless other options present themselves.)
