Fortress America
I never played this. I was just too poor when it came out, but a lot of guys I knew really enjoyed it. It seems that FFG is going to re-release it. Does anyone have the MB version? Did you like it?
I have the old version (the one with Saddam on the cover). I've actually never played it... I picked it up via E-Bay probably five years ago, but apparently that's about as far as nostalgia took me. Decent old copies seem to be selling for ~$50, so I'm about to offload my copy and pre-order the new one.
Hey... So... I was thinking about this game a lot today. If anyone wants to arrange a Fortress America (Classic) game next week sometime, just post here.
I own a copy. It is heavily based on the Red Dawn movie, if you remember that ("Wolverines!").
The U.S is playing a delaying game. The communists start with 3 times the forces as the U.S., but they come ashore in waves and they don't get any replacements. They should be able to capture the coastline and the the Mexican border before they run out of steam. If the U.S can inflict enough casualties and keep them away from the lasers in the heartland, they usually win in the long run.
I would be interested in a game. The rules are available on-line so not owning the game is not a problem. Unfortunatly I am already committed to a game session on the 2nd, so that would not work for me. But Jose made the game sound very fun!
