Something weekend this way comes
Yeah, ok, so I'm not going to win any awards with the post title.
But the weekend approaches and Cthulu is on the brain.
My short list of games to play on Saturday includes:
Arkham Horror + n expansions
Twilight Imperium 3 (really starting to crave this one)
Blackbeard
Combat Commander
People are welcome to come over Saturday morning at 9am. I think a fair number of people are out so the numbers may be small, but I am undaunted.

Nothing to do with your post... just announcing my blog

I had to do it. I was too used to the "SABG ways".
So of the games listed Blackbeard is the only appealing one. I think I might actually have time to game ::shock:: this weekend. But I don't wanna be difficult and request a change in the shortlist of games to something more Tiffy appealing.
Tiffany: Fair warning... of the stuff Chris listed, Blackbeard is by far the most old school wargame-like, more so even than Combat Commander.
I'll play anything on your list, Chris, but I too would love TI:3 the most.
I am actually aware of the Blackbeard Issue. It still looks interesting.
I'll be in Boston until the 28th, have fun.
Somewhat last minute, but I can host friday night if people are interested. Likely it will be a small crowd...
7pm until whenever.
Send me an email if interested.
Just wondering a few things -- Is tomorrow actually happening? I see a resounding lack of responses (or should i resign myself to a morning of packing?)
Like I said, it could be very sparsely attended (I assume "tomorrow" means Saturday?)
At this point, I'm assuming Ben and Steve are coming, but those are the only definite acknowledgements.
I'm pretty sure it'll still happen. But if they need to back out, I suppose it could fall through.
I canceled running the Carraba's Half Marathon on Saturday morning since I don't want to die from heat stroke. I will definitely be there unless the always possible unforseen disaster strikes.
The all powerful Administrator has added a link to Rob Classic's blog.
Tomorrow = Saturday yes. Its been one -- interesting -- week to say the list. I got off work Thursday (tonight) and was already in today at work (Friday mode) which is how tomorrow ended up Saturday. If that makes sense.
However I would hate to crash the party if you guys are gonna have wargame day. Blackbeard seems interesting, but the rest I am very on the fence about, shall we say. I suppose I can make a decision tomorrow. For certain.
I'm getting over a nasty bug, so if I'm feeling fine Saturday I'll do my best to swing by. Arkham is my first choice, but I'm down with anything.
I'll be there Saturday, and plan on complaining about whatever we play.
We haven't even started Arkham Horror and Chad's already running away with it.
At least we're all on the same team.
Yeah, not quite over this bug. I won't be there in the morning.
So if you guys don't mind teaching me some new games. like blackbeard. i can game till like 1 or 2, in which case i then need to go to work. as i said I will try any game once. and i haven't done a real war game yet., but its you guys call. ill check in the morning and see. if you guys don't want me to crash the party, i wont. who knows, i might even like it. :) I surprised myself with Descent.
I certainly don't mind, but its up to mean old Chris.
I'm not sure how this got labeled "wargame day." Arkham Horror and TI:3 are Ameritrash, and Blackbeard is as much RPG as wargame.
Speaking of wargaming, Steve and I got some in last night. The barbarian module for C&C: Ancients is pretty cool.
Chad, hope you feel better.
Okay, off to run, then off to game. Saturdays rock!
Of course we hope you come, Tiff. Honestly, who knows what we're going to play? It's just all about getting as many people together as we can and having fun. Definitely come over, it'll be fun. That goes for the rest of you guys, too. We'll be here--come over if your day allows it.
I thought TI:3 was a wargame. LEast thats one of the things BBG classifies as. And Ben commented that Blackbeard plays like a traditional war game, and Comabat Commander, well not commenting on that.
But all that aside, I shall be there. Close to nine ish. And it is about having fun. Though how it is possible to have fun without playing Euros is beyond me ;) Joking. Mostly ;)
