Saturday Planning
It's FINALLY arriving. Descent: Road to Legend, the game that promises to bring true meaning to life, solve the global warming crisis, and spread peace throughout the entire world (or so I've heard), should be here Friday evening according to the FedEx website. So Ben and I are doing our little Homer Simpson happy dances and are planning to play Saturday morning.
The game needs exactly five players- the evil baddie (Ben, at least for the first game) and four heroes (me, so far). Steve and Jon said they might play, so that leaves a spot if anyone wants to join in. So we'll take volunteers (disclaimer, as always- we understand this is not everyone's cup of tea). We'd ideally like someone who can play regularly (probably just on Saturdays, not Mondays), as this will take a few hours at a time but will do so across several sessions. The beauty of this game, though, is that we can substitute people in and out and even play with fewer sometimes if we have to. And of course, we'll teach it to anyone who wants to learn- no experience required.
There will also be other gaming. Probably baseball. Maybe Rock Band (if Michael gets his new XBox) or Smash Bros. (if someone brings a Wii...and the game).
(Tenatively planning on usual 9am start at my place unless other options present themselves.)

I'm in.
I am a no go on this one. As fun as descent sounds, totally not my cup of tea. which is sad too, seeing as how i had no commitments this weekend either.
I'd like to sign on as a sub, but I'll leave the starting spots for those who want it more dearly.
LOL, Tiffany, I feel like I killed your weekend! Let's see who else posts but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be the only non-Descent gamer there. I would expect something fun to be on the table.
On second thought, it could also be more baseball.
Like I said, let's see who else posts.
chris, you had nothing to do with killing my weekend. I am just an unreliable gamer. I cant be certain that i can show up at any time. If there is none non descent interest then you will see me. if not, another weekend will come around that i can actually show up.
Hmm...
I'm a maybe. I'll be in town for a change, but so will Dayna which makes for a logistical challenge of sorts...
We'll see.
Just tell her Jon will probably be there.
That should clear up all the logistical problems.
I am a no go by the way, I'm going to Baton Rouge today.
I should be there.
Sounds great but I'm probably a no-show, my daughter is still in town.
So did Pillars get played on Monday? If so, how did it go? I have purchased this game and will most likely pick up Caylus Magna Carta eventually. I think the original Caylus would be too much for my family. I've been reading up on the Pillars expansion due out in May (English version) and it appears to be a solid improvement.
Anyway, happy gaming on Saturday and I will hopefully see you all again soon.
We're unavailable this Saturday...
I am a maybe for Saturday with morning being a little less likely and afternoon being a bit more likely but will not resolve until tomorrow night best case and most likely not until Saturday itself. I would be willing to join in on descent, baseball, or other if I can attend.
Hooray! Its finally almost here. I am beyond excited at getting this campaign started. Ever since we were fortunate enough to have Kevin Wilson give us a peronal demo at BGG.con last year I have anticipated playing Descent how it was meant to be.
I'm thinking of playing as the Spider Overlord trying to blot out the Sun (cue evil laughter)N but I will wait to see what is under the shrink before making a final call. Hopefully we can get through the first month of campaign time this weekend.
We must pause for a moment to issue a brief public service announcement:
Suck it, USC!
We now return to our regularly scheduled programming.
What happened to the USC guy?
I'm in Baton Rouge, just got in.
I wouldn't mind trying the Descent thing another time though :(
I can pretty much confirm I'm a 'no' at this point. I blame life (and USC for the hell of it).
Have fun, guys.
It looks like I am out for this weekend.
This is the only weekend or a while that we can use my dad's truck to move so I will be doing that all day.
Y'all will have to work out all of the rules and I will have to get in on a latter day.
FedEx did not lie. The game is here. However, I just spoke with Steve. Unfortunately, he has to go to work in the morning and will be there likely until the early afternoon. So Dennis, you're in if you want to play.
Ok, so there's another opening. Scott? Anyone? Who can be here early in the morning?
I can. Mwahahahaha!
So I gather from these comments that it looks to be a day of Descent. Hope you all have fun with that. I shall catch y'all some other weekend.
Okely-dokely, I'm in. Just reviewed all the rules.
out for the morning; possible for afternoon
I'm still in. I'll be there at 9.
Looks like I picked a good weekend to have out of town guests. Ya'll crazy kids have fun.
