Brawlers Wanted!

Brawlers Wanted!

I just got my brand spankin' new copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl (wii) in the mail and was wondering if there would be any interest in co-oping or throwing down in some multi. Since fellow SABGers have been flocking to the Rock Band side of things, it’s worth a shot to throw it out there. I could sure use the help in the Sub Space Emissary (basically a new "story mode"). Ok ok, this post is mainly aimed at Michael and Jon. I’m ready to rock any weekday post five o’clock, sans Fridays (weekends are touchy). I’m also off on Mondays now. Yeah, my schedule sucks, I know.

smash brothers brawl would be fun. but it depends if you are looking for people who want to play, and people who are *good* at the game.

hmm... I might have to check into getting that game. I'm not used to having the "online play" capability.

Tiffany: I was only ever good at the original smash game on 64. Since then I have been on a pretty steady and slow skill decline... So no discrimination on my end.

Sean: The online as far as I can tell is pretty botched. Nintendo continues to show that they have no idea what to do with these fancy internets. Expect lots of error codes, time-outs, lag, and once you finally get a match - a serverly limited number of options available. If you want to play with friends, guess what you have to look forward to. Did you guess friend codes? ...'Cause it's friend codes.

I forgot both of your email addresses. Drop me a line at simon t willems {a t} yahoo [d o t] com and I'll send you directions to the new house. (yeah...another new house...)

Anyone else is welcome to come if interested. Beware, it's BYOC though. I only have two wiimote/nunchuck combos (plus two additional lonely wiimotes).

SO is it BYONC x2?

I was rather dissapointed with the way online multiplayer for GHIII for the Wii, worked. My brother bought after seeing how sweet it was on the 360, only to be painfully disappointed.....slow connections, some random errors, barely anyone online...

Scratch the controller part. I bought a classic controller and a corded gamecube controller today after finally deciding all wiimote options felt like garbage, so there are plenty of plastic input devices to mash away with...someone's just going to get stuck with a crappy one.

In my opinion, the best option so far has been the gamecube controller which has the lowest level of awkwardness.

Rob: I wasn't kidding about the Wii online thing. They are really lost on that front, wondering this side of the series of tubes with no food, water, or idea how to get home. Apparently the Japanese only understand local handheld wireless...

I have my sisters gamecube right now, so if extra game cube controllers were needed, i could manage to scrape up...::peers at her floor:: two.

and yay for no discrimination at the non talent at smash brothers. i am an amazing button pusher - but some of my friends with skill get irritated at the fact.

what time does this shindig start?

Let's see...5:30-6:00pm tomorrow and Thursday? You can decide which day to come (or come both days!). Email me at the above address to get directions. Turns out subspace emissary only plays two, but there is plenty of crap to unlock just playing regular ol' multi.

Is this a good game for the wee bairns? (Just curious, I'm not planning on bringing them over or anything)

The theme is definitely ok. Random nintendo characters fighting but not gorey or anything like that.

Not sure about accessibility in terms of playing well.

The controls can be pretty demanding. They're a little floaty and pretty much every button is used. I even have trouble with them occasionally and I would consider myself a hardcore gamer. As long as the wee ones don't get frustrated by that, I'm sure they would enjoy the frenetic visuals and pokemon, etc.

In short: YAY CARTOON VIOLENCE!
