Has anyone seen anything on this?

Monday

This is your weekly post to prepare for Monday at DL. I'll be there at my typical time (4pm). With "Friendless" as a recent Geek of the Week, I added my name to his stats list and I've got 113 games unplayed! Vhozha Moi!

Of course, many were played before I started logging games on BGG, but I've got to knock that number down to a respectable sub-100 or so. So I'll bring a few classics and quick card games. And some Age of Steam expansions.

Closet Baseball Fans?

I'm not a big sports fan, but for some mysterious reason I'm really intrigued by baseball simulations. Hard-core fans are probably really interested in tracking players and knowing as as possible, but that's not it for me. I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's something about the combination of stats and warm summer days. Don't know.

After some research, I have concluded that Strat-o-matic Baseball is the most likely looking game. The basic version is simple and fast, the advanced version is still not too bad while including a lot more detail, and the super-advanced version provides room to grow, though I doubt I'd ever go that far.

I'd like to try before I buy, though, so I was wondering if anyone in the group has a copy stashed someplace.

Columbia's EastFront and EastFront 2

Columbia’s EastFront is one of my favorite WWII board games. There are many reasons that I think that this game “Works”, and I have played it at least a dozen times. Right now I think the War of the Ring is one of our favorite 2 player games within our group, but EastFront might also be a good one to add to our repertoire. Probably one negative that I have against the game is that to play out the entire war in the east would take quite a while. The game actually has an effective method of scoring victory every six months of game time.

I have not had the chance to look into EastFront 2, but would very much like to some time. If someone (Ted?) is up for a game, I would be all for it. I may have to wait until after May, though. The last month of the school year is always a busy one.

Any thought on EastFront 2?

I would like to sell this old game, Blood Bowl, first edition. But I don't know how much to charge for it. I've tried Shop.com, e-bay, bardgamegeek, vintage board games, and a half a dozen other places. No one has a copy. Can anyone give me a good web site or catalog where I can look up the value of this? Thanks.
