Monday, Monday, So Good To Me

Let's not let the momentum fade... who's coming to DL on Monday? Dennis could bring Pizza Box Football. Tiffany could bring Mr Jack. I'll have the bag (I've decided I need a bigger bag). I'll be there about 6ish.

I will be there. Sometime between 6 and 630. I shall even bring a few games from my bag of tricks. Mr Jack will be one of them. I might even bring a friend. He keeps claiming that he want to take up board game playing, and i keep threatening to bring him on Monday, but I never go on Mondays so yeah...

I don't think I can make it. Chris and I played Mr. Jack this afternoon, and it packs a lot of fun in 30 minutes. He nabbed me just us as I was going to dash out of town. Curses, foiled again.

I'm coming around 4:30 I guess. Allegedly, we may have a Simon appearance today. Thats almost a quorum of party gamers.

Hey all -
New Guy here, having found this from a post on BGG.com. Likely won't make it to meet any of you tonight (the wife and I are watching Lost Season 3 leading up to the new season on Thursday), but next week is a strong possibility.

Seeing the ND and UT logos make me think things could get interesting should I change my avatar to the USC logo!

Jason

Argh!!!! Its burns me not to unleash a torrent of USC slamming at the very mention of the most despised rival of my noble school.

OJ Simpson.

There, I feel better now.

Welcome, Jason!

I'd say boo too but Texas handed USC its ass so handidly in the rose bowl a year back that there's really no need. :P

Welcome to SABG!

I had a feeling I might hear from you guys! :-)

Ben - hopefully I'll be a new acquaintance that can bring you towards a fuller understanding of our rivalry as the greatest one in all of sports, trading hatefulness (as fully deserved by UCLA, aka Westwood High School) for respect and admiration, as Jones & Rockne, Parseghian & McKay would have said. No one's beaten us more than you guys have (42 times), and no one's beaten you more than we have (32 times). And yes, I can do the math! ;-) Here's to another 100+ years of great football between us!

Chris & Simon - thanks for the welcome! But a 3-point loss after being up 12 with 6:30 left to play hardly counts as "getting one's ass handed to it". :-) Though happening in our own backyard hurt, the fact that the loss was to the then-winningest program over the past 10 years made it not so bad either. We've played in the past three Rose Bowls, and 4 of the past 5, and won the other three games by an average of 20 points. I think we're doing ok. ;-)

So how'd it go last night? What'd you guys play?

Uh...yeah...Caltech is in a much nicer part of LA than USC. So...umm...booooo and all.

(Sigh -- and y'all wonder why I don't watch college football.)

It does when you are supposed to be the greatest team ever. I'm just messing with you anyhow. I think I'm technically supposed to be an A&M fan since I'm going there for grad and my gf is in their vet school, but... Well, let's hope the new coach is better than the last. Although we did beat Texas (twice now)!

Anyway, welcome again and I'm sure someone will be posting a session report soon. All I can say is we had possibly the funniest game of celebrities I've ever taken part in... followed by the longest Kutschfarht game in history.

Addendum to Simon's mini session report: We played Escalation and PowerGrid.

Oh, and Race was played.

But that goes without saying, right?
