PBEM's
Not being able to play games with the best group in town from 5/27 all the way to 7/15 is going to hurt. So in order to fight the looming withdrawal pangs, I want to give PBEM's a try.
Which ones do you recommend? Which ones would you try with me to help me suppress the withdrawal symptoms?
Diplomacy
I just joined. We'll see how that goes.
Vassal
Ben, Ted, Simon, Jon.... anyone wants to try one of the blockgames or any other wargame? VASL (which probably will require a lot of time to review the manual, etc.)?
Tigris and Eufrates
We can set up a 4 player game of SABG'ers on bbg.com.....sweet.

I'm sure its because our club has spoiled me, but the prospect of PBEMing on Vassal just makes me cringe.
Still, I'm up for T&E, Diplomacy, or other possibilities.
Oh, and please make sure to claim a spot in the Diplomacy test game:

Oy! Does this mean you won't be able to get our game of Twilight Struggle in until 7/15?
I always have one or two games of T&E going on BGG, so count me in for that
Ben, we can get it in on 5/22's session.
And yeah, I agree. I'm a bit put off by PBEM. But In times of desperation.... I'll download it soon, and try it out. See how it goes...
Expect my BGG invites for T+E.
password sabg is not working. Do I pick Power #1 or Master?
I already have an account, but can't signup to your session.
Look on the right screen for the "E-Mail to Join" hyperlink. Send an e-mail to the server with the following text:

I wouldn't mind trying one of the CDGs via ACTS/Cyberboard (or Vassal if it exists). Or Europe Engulfed...
I'm interested, but I think I need to get comfortable playing the CDGs before trying them PBEM. I now have Wellington, Wilderness War, Sword of Rome, and Paths of Glory. In order for the game to not take a year to complete, I'd recommend PBEMing one of the smaller ones like Wilderness War or Wellington.
The Wilderness War Vassal Module is quite pretty and seems pretty mature in its development. I'm still learning to play the game, and I think I should get a face-to-face game under my belt before messing with Vassal.
Wellington now has a good looking Vassal module up too, but its only version 1.0, so perhaps bug prone.

A great way to cure a bit of cold turkey is to play the Java version of Titan, located here:
http://colossus.sourceforge.net/
One of these days we'll have to play the real thing, but this is a majorly accurate version of the game. Unfortunately it doesn't support PBEM though.
Thanks Ben.... for the Titan link.
I loaded Vassal last night.... it looks very nice.

I've been saved! Great geeklist. And I found some other lists too.
