Ich Kann nicht Anders

So, we've been kicking around Here I Stand for a Christmas game? We who? Well, Me, Chris, Anne, and presumably 3 more people (Rob? Ben? Jon? Steve?). On possibility is Dec 24th, assuming people are available. It's probably best to do the Tournament Scenario, since that's only 3 turns. It's been 2+ years since I've played, so a game that will definitely end is to be preferred.

Anyway, planning thread ahoy! If you are interested, when are you available.

I'm out from the 24th through the 26th (and likely the 27th as I will be catching up on post-call sleep). Still interested though.

I am interested and may be available any time 24th-27th; I can firm up availability as it gets closer

I'd love to, especially seeing as I invested a tablespoon or so of gray matter learning the ~50 page rulebook last year. Sadly, I don't think its a realistic plan for me at the moment. I'll be doing one of my final few weeks of military stuff the week after the Christmas holiday.

I more than likely could on the 26th or 27th.

I'm out; it's far too modern a period for me.

I could be available on the 26th or 27th, or later to make sure folks like Chris can be involved. Just let me know a date and I'll make sure I can be free for it!

Hm. Right now it looks like only 4 (at most) for the 26th/27th...

I would be interested and should be available. Haven't played before but I can track down the rules beforehand.

Microphoning up and launching Vassal might work over a series of evenings...

sorry....I really want to get this to the table. We just need to do a Sat-at-Chris's grade session, but with HiS only.

Getting this to the table is like waiting for all the planets to align. Getting enough people motivated to play AND getting all their schedules lined up for availability on the same weekend...it just makes me want to give up in frustration (and part of this is on me, since I work the weekend after Christmas). It's the reason I can't get two of my other favorite big-box games (TI3 and World of Warcraft) to the table. We might have a bit more success with 7 Ages since I think more people are open to playing that than the other games we've mentioned here, so maybe we ought to see if we can pull THAT off on some Saturday and then build on that success. I dunno--I'm open to ideas.

I'll echo Chris's words to the dot by saying....

(insert tantrum)"waahh!"

I don't think we should be so disheartened that we cannot get a HIS game together right after the holidays. It can be a busy time for many due to family obligations, etc. This is nothing a little planning and persistance cannot resolve.

What about a weekend in January?

All of the weekends in January could work for me at this point.
