"I've got some good news, and some bad news..."

Today was a good news / bad news kind of day.

Today was a good day at work. Happy bundles of joy brought into the world. And that's always good.

But I live a fair distance from work. Not so good. It took a while to get home and I ended up submitting my math trade want list 20 minutes late.

The (understandable) response from the person running the trade:

So I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself. But less than two minutes later, my doorbell rings. And I am blinded by the glory before me (yes, this is me in my Indiana Jones getup that I answer doorbells with):

So it all kind of worked out, I suppose. I would have liked a nice new copy of Shogun, but I guess animeeples will do for now.

Anyway, anyone up for any games on Saturday?

I am about 95% percent certain to be out for Saturday I am afraid. However, I am about 95% certain to be in for Monday and ready to play Michael with my team or anybody with Sean's team in SABBL or anything else if SABBL is not happening. Enjoy yourselves Saturday and don't let me hear that the ASPCA had to be called out based on what you all will be doing to those poor farm animals in Agricola.

Got mine today too. Looks pretty darn nice. Now what to do about finding good sleeves for this game. It has the standard euro card game size (Funny Friends, Notre Dame, etc etc) that's a bit longer than a Yugioh card, and a lot slimmer than Magic the gathering/GMT cards.

I tried to fit Memoir '44 cards into my card sleeves last night and the sleeves were too big. As it turns out, the Agricola cards are exactly the same size as well. I'm sure there's got to be sleeves out there for this size, right?(Even though it's clearly not "baseball card" size.)

I spent the evening working through my first PBEM turn on ACTS/Cyberboard of Here I Stand. As a newbie in the game, I'm playing as France. We've completed the 95 Theses, now we're on to initial diplomacy (ugh! there's that word again!). What a fascinating game!

Saturday is likely out for me.

Fantastic post, BTW. I can't wait to see what all the hype is about regarding Agricola.

Saturday sounds good. A last bid for freedom or something.

My copy of Argicola is lost in the abyss that is the UPS depot. ::sigh:: stupid undeliverable packages. That just means that I have yo go pick it up tomorrow.

Did you have to order directly from z-man to get the animeeples? I'm pretty sure that mine will have the expansion cards but no meeps. Glory to thee cube cow!

I'm having a garage sale saturday so no gaming for me.

Travis; You had to pre-order within a certain window from Z-man to get the animeeples. There are certain exceptions to this, but they have to do with having a German copy and some sort of voucher and we generally don't qualify for that.

I have to back out for Saturday. Sorry for the short notice. I guess we need to figure out hosting vs DL or if enough people are available to make gaming happen.
