March into Gaming
Thanks to Chris for his typical high standards of hosting this weekend. Now that the band got back together (etc etc), we're off to Monday. I'll be there, but I'm not sure if I'll show up at the normal time (5-ish) or a bit later. The bag will be attending, and I may even mix it up a bit today. On the other hand, I still haven't gotten in a "full" game of Through the Ages (or Starcraft).
The cartoon is just because I haven't used it in a while.

I am a no or out for monday; especially with the possibility of a baseball draft to reserve time for saturday.
Expecting to be there. Work finish time is very unpredictable tomorrow, and I could finish at 4pm or 6pm, so I'll just head over when I'm done and see who's around.
6ish as usual...
Chris, thanks for hosting. I had been craving breakfast tacos for a while.
Jon, GG on CCmed. Had forgotten how cool of a system CC is.
'til the weekend of 3/29....
For the Horde!
What a great day of gaming, with two of my favorites, WoW and Runebound hitting the table. In the Year of the Dragon was very good, and in my opinion, superior to Notre Dame (gasp... its hard for me to type those words!).
Best of all, it was fun to spend a day playing board games and eating tacos and sweet rolls with good pals.
Glad everyone came over this weekend (especially Travis-good to have another gamer in the fold)! I always enjoy hosting, and I'm happy to have everyone over. As the single guy in the group, my house seems well suited for it, and I'm just glad so many people are willing to make the drive since I know it's not particularly close for a fair number of people.
Speaking of not particularly close, great to see Rob make it back from Houston and Ben make it back from jolly old England. Looking forward to Rob bringing Kingsburg in a few weeks.
Thanks to Ben for bringing the tacos! They always seem to be a hit, and apparently there's no such thing as ordering too many bean and cheese.
Like Ben, my fantasy-gaming itch got scratched this weekend, and I'm probably good until the Descent expansion shows up. World of Warcraft was unfortunately Worl--ABORT! ABORT! ABORT! Oh well, the dice simply hate us sometimes. It was clearly the right thing to put it away when we did, as it just really wasn't fun with the way it was going (except for epic-level Ben and his 20 dice per roll!). Too bad, since I had fun the previous time I played. Weird. I think Rock Band was sending out bad vibes so we would come play it again....my precioussss...
Year of the Dragon was my favorite game of the day. It was nice to have a shorter euro-type game in between the longer fantasy fare. It did feel like Notre Dame with the triggering of actions and selecting of roles each turn, but I like Notre Dame, so that's a good thing.
Runebound...another one that was probably more fun the last time I played than this one. We chose one of the adventures-in-a-box card sets, and the rules were just vague and EXTREMELY difficult to understand, which just about killed the fun by itself. Plus, the market deck, which is now about 3 feet high, may be overdiluted (Nawwwww, ya DON'T SAY. Really?), and the special allies and the end creatures in this game were unimpressive. I hope it was just that one adventure set and not that I'm jaded with the whole game system, because with the money I've invested in it.....yeah.
Guess I'm just in the mood to play shorter games with little wooden cubes at the moment.
wooden cubes... better than breakfast tacos...
shorter games with little wooden cubes sound like fun. too bad i cant join ya'll tomorrow. lab meeting schedule is prohibitive of much until after wednesday, but i look forward to any weekend events that are planned.
I don't see myself making it in this afternoon. Catch you guys next Saturday (?).
I'm in at 6-ish. Hoping there's a Pizza Box Baseball to purchase.
