Hospitality - Mordor Style
Steve invited me over yesterday for a quick game of War of the Ring. He took the evil Shadow forces and proceeded, over the next couple hours, to beat me from one side of the map to the other. Above is a picture of him as he secured his final military victory point. Congratulations on your solid win, Steve!
If anyone is playing anything fun this afternoon, please give me a call (if you have my number, which I won't post here). I'm defending democracy until about 5PM, but then I'll could probably play for a few hours after that. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

This game is easy, and Ben simply didn't focus on the main objective. What's so hard about needing to roll a 6, time and time again, and then doing it?
This was another game where the flow saw us exploring new options as the cards and our decisions interacted. I managed to get an army over to the Grey Havens and capture it (a first in any of my games, at least), and towards the end Ben had a very large liberation army roaming Gondor that could have easily taken back one or more strongholds if given just another turn or two.
Thanks to Ben for coming over and at least we saw that the Shadow can still have things go its way. Both of us had been winning convincingly as the Fellowship lately.
There was no victory dance.
Also, thanks to Ben for keeping the blog alive as we all seem to be busier this September.
Someday I hope I get to play War of the Ring. I hear a lot of good things about it.
Sounds like you guys have a lot of fun with this game.
Steve, you should smile a bit more for the picture, especially since you won. Stop looking so bitter.
Actually, its a picture of me as I watched how my team performed today vs. Michigan State.
Ted you need to play this game almost as badly as Chris needs to read the books.
Ben,
look on the bright side, they did finally manage to score a touchdown.
Our next game is against Purdue (4-0)... (gulp)
Chris not knowing how the book/movies end is an outrage. He cares not.
That's a handsome fellow, but he needs a haircut.
