BGG.Con Planning
I spent a bit of time this morning firming up travel plans for BGG.Con and making tentative reservations in Essen, Germany.First, regarding BGG.con, who is going? Perhaps we could do a SABG carpool? I'm planning on leaving SA around noon on Wednesday and returning mid-day on Sunday. I found a newly renovated Redroof Inn (location #129) about 750 ft from the hotel where BGG.con is being held for only $56/night (and $46/night on Friday and Saturday), which is quite a bit less expensive than the Weston. Besides, I'm not planning on doing a huge amount of time in the room anyway.
If anyone else decides to join me in Essen (Come on! Just do it!), I did find a good hotel there within walking distance to the convention hall. I need to be back in Manchester, UK, on Sunday, plus do a 20 mile run on Sunday morning, so I'm only planning on being there Wednesday - Saturday. There does look to be quite a bit of good swag to be had at the convention, including a con-exclusive expansion for Zooloretto plus the release of Cash-n-Guns: Yakuza (with black weapons). I'm still only about 80% sure this trip will happen, as there are some work chaos elements that could derail it.

I'll be going to BGG.con, but I'm carpooling and rooming with the Gaming Sluts.
We definitely need to put teams together for the Puzzle Hunt & Game Show, though (the Sluts didn't go for that last year).
I will be there and I am rooming with Rob.
I would be up for a SABG Puzzle hunt and game show team.
I'm going, and would be happy to carpool (read, ride with someone else, and chip in for gas) with someone. My sister is borrowing my vehicle for a few weeks, so my family will be down to one car at the time - I don't suppose my wife would like to be car-less while I go game for the extended weekend! :) If someone's interested I'd also consider splitting a room (I'll even sleep on the floor, if we want to be really cheap) with someone...
I'm signed up, but given my current situation (cough cough) I'm not entirely sure if I'll be taking a few days off, or if I'll just go up Friday, rooming, and the like.
I'm going Wednesday also and can fit a few people in my car. I have a room at the Westin and the room split may also be an option-let me look into that.
I'm in for game show... i pass on the puzzle hunt.
Westin for me. Nothing like simply crawling back to your room in a stupor from gaming OD'ing. I think I can be there on Wednesday (and would probably need a night at the Red Roof). I may carpool with a South Houstonian.
BTW, I think it's sweet that so many SABG'ers are going..... BUT please don't play in my games... last year I won in many games because of the lack of SABG'ers. Lets just say it was refreshing (read, ego-boosting).
I'm happy to split my room at the Red Roof, plus do the car pool thing.

BTW, I've always wanted to make a dark blue shirt with the blog's logo on the front, and one of the site's quotes in plain white letters on the back.
Or something like "I wouldn't kick that game out of bed" (Michael reference).... or "You will never get this" (Borat)... "running away with it"... etc.
I can go up wednesday. We can just cram a group of us into a room for one night, I can always sleep on the floor.

I'm fine with that. The total cost for the Wednesday night room (with tax, etc.) is approximately $60.
If you sleep on the floor, it will be free, of course.
I'll get a second room on Wed night (I assume they have rooms with two beds) and can go halfsies with whoever wants that second bed. Same goes for Westin on Thur-Sat (Sean?)

I'm hoping to sleep on someone's floor, for a small fee... anyone wanting to cram more than two people in a room, wednesday through sunday? I want to save money for games!! :) I have some nice quality camp mats that I can bring...

Man, I have fond memories of my time at BGGcon and am jealous. Wish I was going but Georgia is too far from Dallas...
