You May Fire When Ready! Saturday Gaming, 30 June 2007
Is it Saturday yet? I can hardly wait. Although I was able to get a small taste of gaming last night, it only served to make me even more hungry for a return to board gaming.
Chris and I have made tentative plans to play Tide of Iron (which plays 2-4), but I'm sure there will be room for lots of other things on the agenda as well, perhaps with multiple tables. Unfortunately my ability to host is somewhat limited at the moment, so I suggest we capture private room(s) at DL at 10:00 hours (unless someone wants to do the honors).
I may have time / energy to digest one more of my new games prior to Saturday, most likely either the Warrior Knights expansion or Colosseum. If I do, I'll bring whichever one that is. Zooloretto is scampering its way to my house, but it might not make it here by the weekend.
Anyone else interested in joining us? If so, what would you like to play?

This Saturday I will be watching the three "Gamer Cadets" as my wife attends a church function. I swear that if I was not so busy that I would love to just watch and learn ToI as the two of you play.
PLEASE PLEASE tell me what an awful and horrible game it is so that I will not want to purchase it. I am weak...
Zooloretto... being an SdJ whore (except for Niagara), I'm suddenly interested.
Carlos, don't worry--we will get you in a ToI game one of these days, even if we have to drag you out of your house forcefully to do so. I think its a safe bet that you'll enjoy it.
I'm looking forward to Zooloretto also. Did you guys read the "live ticker" posted on BGG? Among the best (translated) comments:
"The tension is for seizing."
"The tension rises in the immeasurable."
"Rejoicing breaks loose."
BTW, I'll be wherever "there" is on Saturday. Hope you can make it, too, Rob.
I can't make it (I'm still out of town).
Incidentally, the tanga deal tonight is pretty sweet (vegas showdown and nexus ops for 17.99 plus 6.99 shipping)
That is a good deal. If you don't own these yet, just close your eyes and push the button. You won't be disappointed.
Chris those translations remind me of a restaurant menu I saw in Japan last week that had the following three items:
1. Happiness burger
2. Entrails soup
3. A drink with the subtitle: When condensed milk meets tea.
Of course, now that I think about it... "Entrails soup" in English is still pretty much, "Entrails soup."
I think Zooloretto is the game that is finally going to prompt me to buy a laminator. There are now three free, official, print-and-play expansions on the publishers website. Bookshelf games has a very nice video tutorial of the game available as well. I am hoping the cute baby animals will spark interest in my wife for the game.
Well, not this Saturday, but maybe next week....but thanks for asking. I have a dinner at the Dept director's place on Friday evening (ergo, I can't drive to SA on Friday afternoon). Plus I'm getting some work done on the kitchen this Saturday.
Plus (x2), that way I give the whole Baseball craze sometime to fizzle. :)
Don't worry... there's still a small but active non-baseball guerilla contingent hiding in the jungle, waiting for the opportunity to strike...
Plus you give me time to possibly make it back to San Antonio before you come.
Fizzle? I'm sure you meant "expand." Must have been a typo.
Hmm, a happiness burger sounds pretty good right now. Of course, it would have to be, wouldn't it? After all, it's a happiness burger.
I can't play till Saturday evening. And I should be able to go by DL Monday evening.
Steve! I was wondering when you were going to report in. I miss our Saturday morning WotR sessions. I can play Saturday until probably 7PM or so, assuming my brain doesn't start leaking out my ear.
I'm up for all-day gaming on Monday, and I'll probably stay until around 7 PM again.
Update: A somewhat damp box containing Zooloretto arrived today, plus a booster box of Star Wars Pocket Models. Now to schedule some geek time to play with my new toys....
Alright, it looks like it might just be Chris and I unless there is a silent majority lurking out there. I'll still bring a variety pack of games in case others decide to appear.
See you at DL at 1000 hours, Chris!
Steve: If you decide you're going to come over, just give me a call so we don't ditch you or box you out.
