Saturday Morning Gaming
Looks like I may have the house this weekend. Is there any interest in gaming at my place this Saturday AM? I would think that a longer game may be in order. Some suggestions: TI3, CotE2, RRT? How about Epic BattleLore? Suggestions?
My goodness, I did not expect any comments about the chess game, just the crazed kid in the picture!
If I recall the game was a white win, but when the picture was clicked, some changes to the board were made doing "what-if" analysis and the BxQ was not there.
I'm sorry to hear that you will not be available, Ben. I was kind of hoping that you might bring your copy of Tide. I saw it for sale already at Dibbles Hobby Shop already!
Carlos: I'd definitely be there if I could, but I'll be in Tokyo on Saturday. I plan on taking lots of game rulebooks with me for the airplane ride over.
DOn't worry, it's no big deal. I know that sometimes the stars align either just right or not at all as in this case. It's just that I don't often get the opportunity to host. As my youngest gets older I should be able to host more often.
In the mean time, I have a Plan B for this weekend. My oldest has taken quite a liking for BattleLore!

That's a cool photo, Carlos. Given the connected, passed pawns looks like white should win, but it could take some endgame finesse.
I might have a short window Sat morning, but then again I need to recaulk our shower, so maybe not.
Looks like no end game finesse is needed from white. Looks to me like black is check mated.
I can not make it, pretty much any other weekend this month but this one.
BxQ stops check, but there might be a forced mate I'm missing.
I did however miss the defending white pawn on the 2nd rank. White doesn't have to drop the light-squared bishop.
Both bishops plus the passed pawns should be a fairly easy end game.
Always exciting to win by sacrificing the queen.

I recommend TI:3, though I'll be very sad not to be there.

Well, it looks like we may not have the participation, so lets put this off for another time.
Let's start planning a TI:3 game for an upcoming Saturday... even a 4-player game would be very nice.
I know Chris just picked up a copy, so I'm sure we might persuade him to join... Chad usually is interested in this one as well.
This probably warrants a separate planning post...
Sorry Carlos. Whis I could be there but I will be out of town this weekend.
