RR Tycoon as a Prize.... Probably

Since today is the day of a million blog posts, I'll add another.

If you haven't yet bought Railroad Tycoon and want to, you might want to hold off for another week or so. I'm probably getting a second free copy, in which case I'll offer my existing copy up as a prize at an upcoming game night / afternoon.

The only downside is the one I'd give away would have a slight ding on the outside of the box, which happened during shipment. Otherwise the game is fine. I requested an exchange from the vendor, and instead they're just sending me a whole new game for free.

What if I just bring you a doughnut on Thursday?

...please?

No doughnuts... I want to see mortal combat over this baby!

Actually, I was thinking we could just play the game, with the winner (assuming its not me) getting to keep it.

I'm with Kendahl on this. I would have sold it on ebay....hehe. You're a cool guy Ben.

I just wish I could've made it tomorrow...even if I didn't win the game.

Ben,

How much warping has your game board had on RRT? Just wondering since this is all over BGG.

I have one and it hasn't had any, but it hasn't touched the table but once.

ARRRRGGHHH!

Bad news. Fed Ex (the shipper that damaged the original game) wants to claim it as proof of the original damage... I should have known it was too good to be true.

To be honest, the damage is minor enough I need to think about whether I want to go through all the trouble. The hidden cost of on-line shopping...

I'm very sorry for the false alarm!

I haven't messed with the board much yet, since I hadn't planned on using the game. I did pull out the board just to check for warping, and so far it looks fine.

One thing I did notice was how fragile the ink was on the board. Just from the jostling back and forth that must've occured during shipping, the color on the map is rubbed off in several places.

I'm taking this copy to Fed Ex and let them play with it on Friday.
