Happy New Year! 2006 is the Year of Gaming

As we head into the New Year's holiday weekend, I want to wish each of you and your families a very safe weekend and a happy New Year! I hope the coming year brings many blessings and tons of boardgaming to each of us.

2005 was a much richer year because of the gaming I was able to participate in with this group. I'm hopeful 2006 will bring even more gaming to us all and introduce more friendly folks to our group.

So, raising my virtual champagne glass, I propose a New Year's toast to the San Antonio Boardgaming Group! Cheers!

Yes, yes - Happy New Years all around. I expect massive quantities of gaming out of this group on this upcoming grand New Year. There is so much to look forward to and play.

Here's my list of must-plays at the moment, since I know you all care so much:

Shadows Over Camelot
Bang!
Conquest of the Empire (ASAP)
Descent
World of Warcraft
Railroad Tycoon
Arkham Horror
Runebound
Pirate's Cove (meh?)
Mall of Horror
Werewolf (come on big group!)
T2R: Marklin Edition
Britannia
War of the Ring expansion (oh yeah)
Sid Meier's Pirates (it could happen)
C&C: Ancients

...There's probably more, but I'd just depress myself further knowing all I'm missing.

Oh and I just noticed the terror level Bert at the bottom of the main page...Frickin' hilarious (nearly shed a tear...Well, not really - but it was still pretty damn funny).

I added Bert on there today!

Hey, your must play list looks almost identical to mine (mine includes TI:3 and Fury of Dracula as well).

Why don't we schedule Conquest of the Empire? Who else wants to play?

I very much want to play Conquest. I just got a copy of this game and it just sits on the shelf and mocks me because I have yet to play it.

Happy New Year to all!

I just finished my first game of Hammer of the Scots and it rocked! Long live King Edward I!

Conquest? Sign me up!...although, again, my schedule this month is horrible. Just name a date and I'll let you know.

How does the evening of Thursday, 5 Jan 2006 sound?

Is that in addition to the Weds game, or instead of?

I just got a notice from GMT that something is shipped. Twilight Struggle, I think! Woot!

Ben,

The 5th looks good for me.

I'm on call on the 5th. This sucks... In February, we are playing three times a week to make up for all the gaming I've missed.

What night can you play? It would be good to get at least 4 players, I think...

I think the 3rd or the 4th would be ok for me. Have to run it by the Benne Gesserit first.

Either one of those should work for me as well.

Happy New Years!

I really hope to be able to play sometime this week. Where and when are the possibilities?

Games!

Patrick! Welcome back, buddy!

I'm trying to organize a Conquest of the Empire game this week... mainly because its been sitting unappreciated on my shelf for a while.

I'm pretty flexible this week, but I know Rob is pretty busy. I'm about to start a separate thread for the session planning.

So, how did Kendahl's New Year's Eve party turn out? Session report?

Yep...busy here this month, but don't let me hold you guys back. I'm getting my fix whenever I get an hour or two with my brother (have been playing Hammer of the Scots, Battle Line, Carcassonne the City,...)
