Monday and Labor Day Weekend

Despite many, many BSG games, I doubt that anyone is burned out. But I'll bring along other games just in case. (I still haven't played Uruk, or Master of Venice, despite owning both for 10 days!). So I'll bring them on Monday.

For Labor Day Weekend Jacqui and I will host a BanklerCon. We'll throw open the house from about 1pm Sunday and the full day Monday (We're not hosting on Saturday, which I'm sure someone else will handle).

I would do Masters of Venice. Though I do not yet know if I can make Monday.

I am in for Monday and up for Uruk and/or Master of Venice; I would actually prefer them to BSG. The trouble is that I prefer BSG to waiting on the results of the determination of what game to play game which the BSG fans seem to bypass more quickly. I am also up for labor day weekend Sunday a/o Monday.

Scott -- It is interesting to hear you say that. Since the non BSG game is usually determined by who is left after every one settles in to play BSG in many ways. Sometimes there is the I will play BSG if I don't like the other game vibe, but many times it is the who is not playing BSG? Ok now let us pick a game.

I will admit sometimes to really wanting to play BSG but normally I am governed by my 8:30 end time and wanting to maximize my gaming and willing to play anything; especially to trying new things.

Probably in--I'd try Masters of Venice and Steam but would also be interested in Wyatt Earp or a few other light games as well (like Twilight Imperium).

I understand Scott's dillema--when BSG is on the table and no one has decided on an alternative, BSG is the safe choice because it's a known quantity. The "game to be named later" could be better--or worse. That's a tough choice to make sometimes. Sometimes, its easier to go with BSG--at least you know what you're in for.

And then there came a curve ball...

I will still be there but my opening time will be showing the guy interested in baseball sim's Statis Pro; so what I get in to will likely depend on when that finishes up and what presents itself.

Oh and Dennis; as someone whose Strat pitching did not perform up to expectations you might want to glance in on our exhibition. One thing that I do still like about Statis Pro is that good pitching will beat good hitting more consistently because good pitchers control the potential outcomes. (For a typical at bat a fast action card is drawn and a 2-12 (aka 2d6) number is revealed that determines whether the actual result number will be read off of the pitchers card or the batters. The pitchers range from 2-5 for the worst to 2-9 for the best. In any high talent league all of the pitchers will likely be 2-7 2-8 or 2-9.)

I'm also bringing Cities, my new Carcassonne-but-so-much-cooler-clone. It's quick and fulfilling, like a couple of egg and potato breakfast tacos.

I'm shooting for 6....but could be anytime after that.
