Giving Thanks for Games

Amy and I would like to host a game day either Friday or Saturday. I know there are some plans already in the works. Post your intentions in the comments and we'll work out a schedule that allows maximum gaming for the most people.

So the picture looks to be Agricola...... just saying. I know there was mention of Friday gaming. And I know that there was mention of a post about Friday gaming. But I dont know if this changes things. But I am taking a weekend off. So Friday and or Saturday work for me. :)

I'm in for Friday...

Yeah the caption doesn't make alot of sense to me.

Agricola is ameritrash?

I hate to find out what a game like Axis and Allies is then.

I am also interested in this bonus gaming.

I'm probably up for Friday. I don't want to speak for Chris, but speaking for Chris: he had mentioned hosting Friday. So if J&A hosted Saturday, there would be more gaming goodness ...

My odds are better for Saturday then they are for Friday but I really will not know until I take a spousal reading over the next few days.

I'm all up for some gaming, and a chance to play with the Wiles clan is always welcome. I'm in for gaming at Jeff and Amy's on Friday.

What? Only one day of gaming? This will not do. ;) I might have to fix this.

Personally, I'd like to play with Jeff and Amy, and I bet Rob would as well. So that's why I'm hoping they'll host on Friday, with other plans being made for Saturday if people want to make them (I'll be at work).

Jeff/Amy- what sort of time frame are you considering having people over? I think most of us would be available in the morning (especially because some people have families that will be out braving the Black Friday crowds,) but I know evening works better for at least Scott (and possibly others?).

BTW, I just saw a commercial saying that Kohl's starts their Black Friday shopping at 4am. Really? Who needs sale prices so badly they're getting up at 3am and standing in the cold for half an hour or so to be first in line for a 4am opening?

(Actually, my ex-wife did that regularly. God bless her, she never paid full price for anything. I know she'll be there.)

Ok. Not trying to derail the thread. Back to gaming planning.

I refuse to shop on black friday. Ever.

But morning or afternoon or evening gaming is good.

Please don't adjust your plans on my account. On the one hand I might be able to get out sometime in the afternoon Friday and both get my official day worked and get in some gaming. Or I could get out at 5 and be available for gaming. Or I might not be available Friday at all. Just let me know the when and where and I will do the best I can to attend if I can as much as I can.

I used to refuse to shop anytime from thanksgiving until the new year but i have softened that position in my old age.

Black Friday at Gamestop is usually very good, with buy two, get one free used games the norm.

I'm still in deep baby support mode, so only my spirit of gaming sessions past will be there.

Jeff and Amy are giving me hope that there is a future though...

Friday it is then. We'll swing wide the doors (metaphorically) at 9:30 AM. Come and go as your personal schedule warrants. We'll call Papa John's or make a taco run around 11:30.

And Michael - the joke is that the Ameritrasher is ashamed to be photographed playing such a non-AT game as the Gric.

I am most likely in, as long as my brother's family doesn't throw a wrench in things.

My home phone & internet service died yesterday, and we've been told it won't be up until Saturday, so I'm going to be in blackout once I leave work. So hopefully no plans change, because we'll most likely be at your door on Friday regardless!

Dennis,
Bring your WOW minis!

Cool. I'll be at J+A's by 9:30am. I'll bring newer and minimally played new games.

That's not me in that pic.

This sounds great! See you Friday!

Celebrities
BSG
Race
Dominion

maybe I'll stay home...

I will try to call before I swing by since it will likely be mid to late afternoon to be sure things are still going.

At least 3 games on my list should be ok with you Rob.

Grrr...

This anti good game sentiment is odd though.

At 7:34 PM, November 26, 2008, Blogger Rob said...

ok fine, I'll go for the last 3.

At 7:36 PM, November 26, 2008, Blogger Rob said...

I'll bring: Monastery (because Jeff had voiced interest in the past), Traders of Carthage (because it's new, short, cool), After the Flood (because Chris was interested).

At 8:15 PM, November 26, 2008, Blogger Unknown said...

Traders of Carthage looked interesting. I have read mixed reviews about it though. It would be nice to see it make it to the table though.

http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/11/26/xbox-live-marketplace-black-friday-sale.aspx

A few live downloads on sale on friday before you head to Jeff and Amy's house.

I might pick up the rock band pack even though I'm not enthralled with the songs. Catan for 500 sounds like a potential buy for me.

At 9:58 PM, November 26, 2008, Blogger Ben said...

Nice tip, Michael.

Gamestop started their buy 2, get 1 free early this year. I had Dead Space and Fable 2, but couldn't find a third game in the $50 range to make it worthwhile. Maybe I'll try again Friday morning on my way to work. Yes, I'll be working Friday. Boo!

Anyone besides Simon have Left for Dead yet?

Home computer back online. I'll bring WoW minis, BSG, my brother, and Thanksgiving leftovers for sure. Should I be bringing drums?

At 11:45 PM, November 26, 2008, Blogger Unknown said...

Well, if you brought Drums I think that might be in preparation for a post Jeff and Amy's house Rock Band party.

I know they don't have a TV available for Rock Banding unless something has changed.

But post-gaming gaming always works for me. It is kind of like a bowl of ice cream to chase that bowl of ice cream you just finished. Mmmmm....

People could stop by here after if there is interest in Rock Banding.

Saturday is also a possibility.

Or like that DQ Blizzard to chase that DQ Blizzard you just finished. ;^)

And my apartment is also open for post gaming/weekend/Saturday/Sunday rock band like stuffs, if people are interested. I do like having people over.It makes me happy. Just thought I would throw it out there.

If something firm develops for Saturday please let me know as I am at this point more likely to be able to attend Saturday then I am Friday.

No, nothing has changed in the way of our TV. We still have the 13 inch in the living room since we never watch TV in there. Sorry Rock Banders.

I just talked to Chris and he has learned that he does not have to work Saturday.

So throw his name into the hat as another potential host. We can probably hash this all out tomorrow while gaming, but just wanted to get that out there.

At 4:08 PM, November 28, 2008, Blogger scott said...

can somebody let me know what the decision is/was for Saturday? I am in assuming some non Rock Band Gaming will be on the menu. Sorry I could not make today/friday; I just got out of work at 3:30 and it just was not going to make sense.

Thank you for hosting, the invite and for the great games.

Sorry, I was bit out of sorts. Traveling does that to me.
