Jumping the Gun - Labor Day plans
We're having to plan everything early these days to accommodate
the height-challenged member of our family. I expect Saturday and /or Monday will be filled with sessions of TI3 and marathons of shorter games, so Amy and I would like to host Sunday evening - August 31st. We'll lower the drawbridge of the Clan Wiles stronghold around 7:30.
RSVP in the comments.
Oh, and I thought of a really irritating thing one could do in a game of Celebrities - submit all famous dogs as your celebrities.
Our Friendly Neighborhood Admin bumped our post as a reminder to us all:
Gaming at Jeff and Amy's - Sunday, Aug 31 @ 7:30 PM

Assuming the invite still stands, me and my out of town guest Jenn will most likely be there. Unless something catastrophic happens.
Oh, the invite will still be standing. Is Jenn your friend from Illinois?
Houston. Well El Paso, but she is in Houston.
When is labor day?
I will probably be able to make it.
September 1st is labor day.
It's 1 September 2008. So we'll be hosting on 31 August 2008. All times are Central.
Woof, Woof
*Paws at the ground 3 times* (or is that a horse)
I think this means I can make it. My dog is rusty.
What about tomorrow?
How about if you go karaoke style for the clues for those dog celebrities.
Actually Lassie would be pretty easy in that regards. I think thats a pretty familiar and distinctive song.
*thinks*
We need to play celebrities some time.
I have a 20-miler scheduled starting at 0430 that day, so I may be sleeping by 1930 that night. I'll try to make it though.
Just to clarify, since I didn't actually say it directly in my original post - We plan to host the Sunday of Labor Day weekend AKA one week from this Sunday.
The most annoying Celebrities theme I've seen is either all female country/western singers (can you really tell them apart?) or:
dasher, dancer, prancer, vixen, comet, cupid, donner, blitzen, rudolph valentino & rudolph nuryev.
I love Ancients and moderately like Memoir. I've never played BattleCry.
Whoops, wrong thread.
One of these days, I need to play Celebrities.
Jon's back! Did you buy BSG?
I am most likely in.
Dang, I thought I was free on that Sunday but I will be in Austin for a Wedding.
Anyone planning anything for labor day itself?
Oh, I'm in. No gaming for me on Saturday though, as I will be sleeping off the after-effects of work the night before (and then trying to watch some college football when I eventually wake up).
I'm up for Sunday and Monday gaming.
I will be out of town in El Paso --it means, "the Paso". Hopefully I can get back to the table soon!
The one time, I went from The Pass to the Angels via St. Francis. I was going to go to The Meadows, but I was only 19. So I went to the Big Tits, which turned out to be a disappointment.
I'm in for Sunday night.
Brian - it does make one wonder how much "experience" those Frenchmen had.
I'm a maybe for Sunday - call it cautiously optimistic.
I might actually be able to come tonight after not coming to gaming in forever.
Alas, I won't be able to make it this evening. Regrets.
Nevermind. Things came up. If there's something going on tomorrow, I should be able to make it.
I should be able to make it.
In unrelated news... anyone getting Force Unleashed? I jsut preordered. The demo is sick.
Family obligations ran longer than expected... I'd still head over now, but I'm not sure how long the festivities will continue. Who's up for playing some games tomorrow??
I picked up Mercenaries 2 today. Pretty good so far... the maps are amazing to behold and positively everything blows up in a huge way. A couple bugs have appeared, which I've gotten used to not seeing on X-Box, but otherwise at least worth a rent. Hopefully a demo will appear.
Force Unleashed... I'm on the fence. The evil Apprentice is ridiculously overpowered. He makes Anakin Skywalker look like just a clone with an extra 1-2 metachlorians. Its pretty much Devil May Cry: Star Wars as far as I can tell. Still, it is Star Wars...
