Just in a Nick of Time....

...before I was about to totally incinerate and dispose of my complete BattleLore collection out of apathy and disappointment, this potentially wonderful news is posted. Perhaps now we'll see some suitably impressive expansion armies, leaders, spells, monsters, etc. and leave the ostriches, cows, and hyenas to happier places like the pens in Agricola or Zooloretto. Thoughts?

Tide of Iron and Wings of War on XBL cause me to have very cautious optimism as well. I wouldn't mind Citadels on XBL, and I do see its being put forth as an official iPhone application.

I would consider this to be good news, although by saying that I mean no ill will towards DOW. I am a big fan of their stuff. But I think that FFG probably will do good things with the product.

That said, all I have is the base set and Epic BL. This has given me lots to work with.

As for XBL, well I still need to get an X-box

In the words of Mr Bankler, I'm catiously optimistic. Knowing FFG, this can't be anything but great for the BL series.

I still have 2 expansion armies in shrink, so I know how you feel Ben. I was thinking of doing the same when I first heard of their Troll expansion...overpriced excuse of an expansion.

I don't regret having sold my copy last month. On the other hand, I could play some Battle Cry...

It definitely looks like a good thing for fans of BattleLore. The fantasy theme doesn't really cut it for me - I really like the theming of Memoir 44 the best of the series - but I think that FFG is a good partnership to put out expansions and such that really promote what the fantasy fans will look for...
