Diplomacy pbem
I would certainly be interested in playing a SABG play by email Diplomacy game and I would be willing to moderate one. Do we have 6-7 other folks interested? (I figure if it is #25 on our top game list there should be a chance.)
I just set up a game. I don't mind GMing, but I'm happy to relinquish as well. For starters, registering for this test game will at least help with familiarization.
I'm sending an e-mail with details to those who have posted interest thus far.
I think that Diplomacy PBEM is actually better that FTF. In PBEM one does not know the intensity of communication between the other players is. Just don't get your feelings hurt!
After playing Dip email, I never really considered FTF again.
Unless there is some kind of electronic tool, a GM is needed for email play.
I considered playing, but was afraid that I would be time constrained when it came to writing emails. If you have never played Dip PBEM, you may be surprised at the amount of writing that you do. It is really loads of fun.
I have never officiated in Dip PBEM, but like I said, I have played several times. I think that I could do this for the group. This would give Ben a chance to play.

I recommend we start simple as far as variants go.

This game is sort of like a drug. I played once during grad school.
First it was fun.
Then it had a negative impact on my work.
Then it had a negative impact on our entire social scene.
Then I was viciously stabbed.
Then I wanted to play again.
While I admit to being tempted, I'm staying off the smack this time.
I'll stick to games where your goal is to crush, kill, and maim the other guy. I'll leave the brutal games to y'all.
ps I've heard a rumor this game is banned on US submarines, and I believe it.
I've never played before - is it hard to learn? If you'd suffer a newbie, I'm interested...
Sean -- it's a test game, get in the pool.
Ben -- The private-game password you sent didn't work.
i would like to either participate or moderate
i couldn't get the password to work either

How did someone manage to join the game? Could you email the rest of us the password?
We need four more players...
Make that three....
anybody else interested in playing?
anybody not interested in playing willing to moderate?
