More War of the Ring coming...

First, let me say there's a special place in the fiery pits of Mordor for USC...

On a brighter note, I did spot this thread on BGG, alluding to not only another expansion for WotR, but also another Lord of the Rings related game from the same designers. Anyone care to try out the current expanded version in the coming weeks? Just e-mail me to set up a date.

Pick a time, and we'll play.

The battle game has a very different feel from the main game, though many mechanics are the same. The Rohan battle seems to get mixed reviews, though the reviews of Gondor seem a bit better. I think both pose interesting tactical challenges for both sides, though I've only played them solo.

I will say I agree that the battle game rules could have benefited from another trip or two through the universal translator, as they are a bit odd and confusing in places.

The expansion upgrades to the main game are really a nice, concise patch rather than a major expansion and seem to round things out quite a bit, making early battles in the North much more likely via the Balrog.
