Friday 7/21 Game fest

Here it is...another precious opportunity for an all-day gamefest.

Per calendar details:
10-4pm (or longer?)
@ DL of course w/ lunch somewhere cheap and close.

It seems to me like we are leaning toward the meatier games. Some have said A&A... others Descent, TI3, or even AGoT. Of course, there should still be room for the usual euros too.

Days like these are hard to come by; with this post, I'd like to set things in stone (if such a feat is possible) to avoid the blank stares and uncomfortable silence as we try to steer someone from the group to the 2-player game we want to play. : )

Seriously, I'm personally REALLY interested in Lock and Load: Band of Heroes (plays in 1-2hrs), or 2-4 player World of Warcraft (both of which I own). If anyone is interested in "signing up" for any of these, let me know. I would need to review the manuals, and would like to do that before then.

I'll be there by 10am and can be there until 5ish. I'll also bring a couple of the usual euro hits, and Hammer of the Scots (doesn't require extensive rules book review) just in case. And of course, if there is more interest in any of the other games already mentioned, I'll gladly join in.

btw... my copy of Eastfront finally arrived.... just wanted to throw that out there....

As I mentioned in another posting, I will not be available. I usually work on Fridays during standard business hours. But this Friday I will not be at work, but have other "Domestic Duties" that require my attention. I will, however, try to drop by and introduce myself.

I noticed that you mentioned Hammer of the Scots. I have never played that one, but I am a fan of EastFront, by Cloumbia. That is one of my favorite games.

Hope to meet some of you then.

I would be up for Descent, TI#, AGoT, and possibly World of Warcraft.

I will be there at 10am also.

Ok, I'll definitively brush up on WoW just in case. It looks like it takes around 3 hrs for newbies. I feel the less players the quicker it should flow (so I'd go with 2-4).

Eastfront would really be great, but I think of it as being more of a whole Saturday or Sunday deal at someone's house. Or now that I have a larger table, maybe play a scenario in two half days.

Carlos, I have Hammer of the Scots, Crusader Rex, Wizard Kings, and Rommel in the Desert (and now Eastfront 2). Ted, Jonathan, and Simon like these too. Let me know when you want to play with this block head.

I'm planning on being there at 10 am.

I'm with Rob: I hate that uncomfortable silence that always follows the inevitable question of "So, what are we gonna play?" I assume we're all being polite, and nobody wants to pipe up and "force" their game of choice onto everyone else.

On Friday, I'd like to get in some light wargames and dungeon crawls (particularly War of the Ring, Descent, Dungeoneer, and Dungeon Twister [I know the reviews are bad and I read the rules once and it looks awful, but I'd like to give it a chance]) that are either too long for Monday/Friday night gaming or don't allow enough players.

We've got several big-box games lined up. No point in multiple people lugging those monsters in. I'll bring my copies of WotR, A&A:E, Dungeoneer, and some Euros (just in case).

I should be there by 1pm. My list of desired games is pretty much identical to Jon's: Descent, TI#, WoW, AGoT (which now plays 4, 5, or 6 comfortably, depending on which version we use).

So judging by this post and the calendar, we are going to be 6...for now.

I spoke to Ben, and we are setup for WoW. We can take up to 2 more, but then that would leave one out waiting for Dennis to arrive. So we may end up doing 2 or 3 player WoW instead.

Dennis... should we wait until 1pm? WoW seems to take about 3 hrs from what I've read. Or would you rather do AGoT avec expansion at 1pm?.

Again, I'll also bring some other stuff just in case.

If we have few enough for everybody to play WoW, I'll play, but if we have too many, I'll give WoW a miss and play WotR (or something else).

Well, if you are seriously considering WoW, check this out for the sake of not wasting a single minute of our TEN (hyperbole? nah) hours of gaming.
