Jonesing for Games
I realized at work today that the list of games I want to play in the near future has gotten a bit lengthy; it's at least five sessions long.
Shadows over Camelot
Puerto Rico
Descent
Hammer of the Scots
Conquest of the Empire
Age of Steam
Roads and Boats
Magic Realm
Magic:the Gathering
Shadowfist
War of the Ring
Tigris and Euphrates
The bulk of these I don't own, and and I haven't read the rules for some of them, but I still itch to play.
sigh

What?!! No Twilight Imperium: 3???
I can see I'm going to have to put more energy into extolling the virtues of Return of the Heroes as well.
:)
Well, Shadowfist is Tuesday's at Dragon's Lair. (Normally starting at 6-7, but I'm usually there earlier). War of the Ring is whenever we can get a game up. Age of Steam is in the bag until I play it again....
Nuts. I forgot about Ra and Princes of Florence. If I make to the Wednesday session, I'll be sure to bring at least one of the games on the list, but it's likely it won't be Magic Realm. :)
Jeff, if you're serious about Magic Realm please do yourself a favor and start with two documents:
1. The new fan-developed (but designer supported and sanctioned) 3rd Edition rulebook. I'll e-mail it to you if you want it.
2. The document entitled, "The least you need to know about Magic Realm." Again, I have and can send.
Reviewing the PBEM game I posted a link to helps too, as does the java game.
Ben, I've got both of those. I actually printed them out! Thanks for the offer.
Jeff.... I was an MTG player.... I could be jonesing for MTG too...
all it takes is a taste...
PR? Anytime. T+E? ANYTIME. All the others? Crap. I wish I had more time. But it seems Christmas is going to be bad for me.
Ra... oh yeah...anytime (high on my wishlist)
I gotta ask: what the heck is going on in that photograph? Is that guy sitting on a washing machine? Please enlighten me.
Ted, I thought I was the only one without a clue.
I was too embarrassed to ask.
I wondered how long it would take for somebody to pipe up about my choice of photo.
:)
That's Arthur Dent from the BBC's TV production of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (ca. 1981). He's sitting on a control panel of a spaceship. The image is rather fuzzy. The actor who plays Arthur is named Simon Jones. As in 'Jonesing for Games'. It's more of an in-joke for Amy than anything else; she's a big Hitchhiker's fan.
BTW, my list of games I want to play now includes Antike and Tempus.
I'll play Puerto Rico and Antike anytime (my copy of Antike just arrived).
Kendahl...... a game based on taking control of a hispanic republica running a corrupt gobierno? Sign me up.
