Seasons Greetings

Its the holiday season and time to enjoy quality time with our families as well as hopefully lots of board gaming with our friends. Hopefully the new expansion character for War of the Ring pictured above will bring you many wonderful games as well. In any event, I wish each SABG member and their loved ones very happy holidays. I thought about posting a picture of reindeer, but Antler Island has kind of scared me away from those fuzzy fellows for a while.

Speaking of board gaming, I'm officially off work on government slacker employee holiday until January 2, 2008. Other than Wednesday, I'm definitely interested in gaming with anyone who is of like mind. Jon are discussing Combat Commander: Med, but I'm sure there's plenty of time for other things that are fun. In the mean time, I'll be progressing through the engrossing Mass Effect.

Of course, what holiday season would be complete without a little journey to Mecatol Rex? I would like to suggest the possibility of Twilight Imperium 3 this coming Saturday. If we can gather at least four players, I'm sure we'd have a great time. Anyone?

I spent much of the last three days working on a crunch project. Tomorrow we leave for Meredith's parents through Jan 1.

I would dearly love to get in some quality game time, but alas tis not to be.

Santa brought me several BattleLore expansions, and I'm eager to get them to the table.

I've also been kicking around some house-rule ideas for BL.

Mare Nostrum and CC:E also remain high on my watch list. I would love to get in a game of TI3. Then there's EF, EE. So many games, so little time.

Mass Effect is interesting, but occassionally you just want to kill people. That's where Halo and CoD4 come in... actually CoD4 is probably a bit too much like killing people. We should probably worry that this is probably the most popular game out there right now.

Merry Christmas to all.

I'll be keeping a close eye on the planning posts which I expect will begin hot and heavy tomorrow.

Steve,

I hadn't noticed your avatar. One of my all time favorite movies. You have good tastes my friend. BTW, what's your xbox gamertag? (send it to my email).

Assuming that we are able to gather some players for TI3, this weekend, will we have a place to play? I like to host when I have the house, but this will not be one of those weekends.

Now I finally have an actual game for the Wii (unlike Mario Party N, or Wii Sports). My kids were like "Dad, we want to play." So from now on it's post-bedtime Guitar Hero III for me.

Rob, I think it's Closet Monkey10, or something like that. Only my son uses it to find others that he knows (so far). I've only entered the cess pool that is open gaming first available.

Guitar Hero III. Stuck on One by Metallica in Hard, and Holiday in Cambodia in Expert.

Tomorrow sounds like a good day for a Big Kahuna burger.

Normally I'd be all over hosting but I have company coming in from out of state and will be occupied this entire weekend. Most other weekends should be free though.

I am interested in TI3 if you need another player. We could try meeting at Dragon's Lair if it does not get too crowded on Saturdays.

Saturday is starting to get constipated for me... I likely wouldn't be able to start until noon, which most likely makes TI:3 problematic.

Hooray! I finished Halo today.... Ummm... well.... yes, Halo 1. I tried to go all the way on Heroic, but had to do the last couple levels on Normal. Blasted 40-year old reflexes! I played a mean game of Asteroids back in the day.

Friday gaming anyone? Jon?
