I'm starting to save my pennies now! Hopefully we'll see this before 2009.

Drool.

But seriously, how much more lavish can it get? I know they intend to paint the minis, but what else can be done? Actual metal rings for the Elven Ring markers? A tiny battery-powered model of Mount Doom that glows and rumbles? A map too big for most tables? No, wait, make that a map too big for ANY table.

Those are good ideas, Jeff. My unconstrained brainstormed wish list:

1. Full-sized cards for all decks with bigger fonts. Blue Moon-sized would be even better.

2. More John Howe artwork wherever possible.

3. Perhaps a 10-15% increase in board size just to make the tight zones a bit bigger.

4. Perhaps a dice rolling tower that looks like Baradur or Orthanc... okay, this is a bit silly.

5. Nazgul that don't fall down.

6. A Battle of the Five Armies operational map/scenario, complete with Smaug miniature. I think this would need to be a separate expansion though.

7. An embroidered tile drawing bag, perhaps with an Evil Eye on the outside.

8. A unique Gandalf the White miniature.

9. A Smeagol miniature.

10. Some form of deluxe collector's edition box, perhaps made out of wood.

I wonder what the most I'd be willing to pay would be...

5. Nazgul that don't fall down.

Yes!!!!!!

Can't go wrong with more John Howe art, either.

11. Liv Tyler encourages you while you play.

Honestly, if the miniatures look nice and the board is better (and assuming it includes the expansion stuff necessary for the base game) I could easily spend $150. I've offered some nice painters more money than that just to paint my set. At $300 (the price for Deluxe Settlers) I'm pausing to consider it ...

I can't believe I haven't played this in almost a year. Damn you saturday morning people!

I echo Brian's words...damn you all indeed!

Prepainted minis with the base game add-on figs? I'm in.

I do like the elven ring idea Jeff. How about an actual One Ring? It wouldn't serve any other purpose than to brag.

I would be happy with easier to read cards.

I would be elated with well painted figures (or dolls as Scott calls them)

I my breaking point might be around $199... but, wow, it better be nice for that price. If an actual working One Ring were included I might go higher.

Who wants to play War of the Ring a week from today (Friday) during the daytime hours? Its been about 3 weeks since I've played, I'm starting to mutter "My Precious" whenever I walk by my gaming closet...
