Son of Monster Gamefest on Friday, 15 Sep 2006

I'm organizing some game play for Friday, 15 Sep 2006 at Dragon's Lair. Simon and I spoke about playing Runebound, but I don't think he's arriving until mid-afternoon. I should be there by 1200 or so. Anyone else interested in joining me? Name the game, and I'll play it.

First SABG person to name the monster and the movie pictured gets a free copy of Settlers of Catan, the card game (first edition).

The prize is only claim-able during Friday's Son of Monster Gamefest. If there are no takers, I'll present it to the winner of Runebound, which I'm confident won't be me.

I might be able to come in earlier, but I'll have to play it by ear.

Excellent... surely there are others who are motivated to play board games on Friday. Still no takers on the prize?

That's Minilla, Son of Godzilla from the movie Son of Godzilla.

Correct!

Acceptable answers were:

Movie:
Gojira-Minira-Gabara: Oru kaijû daishingeki (1969); or,
Godzilla, Minilla, Gabara: All Monster's Attack"; or
Minya: The Son of Godzilla; or,
Kaijûtô no kessen: Gojira no musuko (1967); or,
Son of Godzilla

Name (depending on language/version):
Minya
Minilla
Minira

Apparently due to translation issues, the little tike has a few aliases. Good job, Jeff!! Can you make it on Friday?

Whoa whoa whoa...So I say hey everybody, who wants a copy of Fluxx in this little friendly competition I created, and all I earn is the scorn and indignation of gamers everywhere? Then Ben strolls along with this closet cleaner and all hysteria breaks out?!

Well good day to you, sirs!

No, I said I bid you good day!!

*limp wristed slap*

Settlers of Catan, the card game is actually a very good game! I just picked up the 2nd edition, rather than the upgrade kit, just because I wanted a fresh one. My 1st edition copy is practically mint, however. I saw the upgrade it at DL on Monday for around $10. Jeff will be happy, I think!

I need to make the next giveaway much tougher....

"upgrade it" = "upgrade kit"

Just FYI, Jacqui and I won't be hosting this week, so you DLers enjoy.

So far it looks like Simon and I with a quick driveby by Jeff. Any of the other usual suspects?

I'll leave it to the reader to determine if that post was before I went to bed or after I woke up.

Hmm, you might have me beat on that time...Of course now I have a new job that is actually steady (i.e. has business hours), so that record might be safe for you...for a while at least...

Anyway, I got off for around 12:00! Joy! See you guys then.

I'll be seeing you guys at DL in roughly 13.5 hours. I'll bring a pile of games. Hooray!

24/7 geeking? Sounds good as long as none of us shift over to Gollum mode...
