Marvel Heroes

Marvel Heroes

This is by far the game I am most looking forward to this holiday season.... Well, at least I hope to see it this holiday season.

By the way, I still need to set up a game or three of my holiday wishlist game from 2005: Battles of the Third Age...

What's on your wish list?

BTW, it sure is nice to see a company besides Hasbro make the jump into providing fully-painted miniatures with their games.

Christmas/Birthday Watchlist
(Amy! Pay attention!)

Caylus (no, I still don't have a copy)
Indonesia
WotR:BotTA
Leonardo da Vinci (probably - we'll keep watching the Essen buzz)
Scepter of Zavador (probably - I hope to play this Friday)
Marvel Heroes (probably - I'd like to get a look at the rules first)

So obviously I need to do some research.

BattleLore isn't on my list because I'm sure it will be on Amy's.

Jeff, if you have a spare 4 hours I'd be happy to play WotR:BotTA with you.

One of these days I need to play both Puerto Rico and Caylus just to see what all the fuss is about.

Jeff: You think your wife might want BattleLore? If I got Meredith BattleLore as a gift there would a lot of teeth gnashing in my house.

woot! BattleLore! "Agincourt with goblins, dwarves, and elves." Can it get any better? Thanks, Ben, for bringing it to my attention!

Ben: Man, you need to hit those classics... Puerto RIco, Caylus (will become a classic), T+E (heard you FINALLY played), etc.

If Santa were rich, my list:
-Starcraft (ok won't be out by then but wishful thinking)
-Caylus (yes, I too need it)
-TS (will be coming in the mail by then)
-Europe Engulfed (in the mail by then too)
-Mykerinos
-Roads and Boats (unhappy with components, but like it a lot, and just a bit more than Indonesia).
-Scepter (If I play again and I'm able to score more than 10 points for the whole game).
-Taj Mahal
-BattleLore (Need to read rules first too).
-WoW expansion
-Hive

-Heck, just check out my wishlist on BGG that has over 50 games...

Oh....how could I have forgotten....probably the one I've been waiting the most for:

Combat Commander.

I have Combat Commander inbound as well... hopefully soon!

Ben: If we can ever find a block of time when we're both free, I'd love to try out BotTA. I think it'll be October before I have any free time, though.

Rob: If you (or anyone else)want to give Taj Mahal a play before Santa brings you a copy, let me know. My copy has been sitting on my "I need to play that again" list for a while.

Tah Majal? Cool, anytime. I've been itching for some of the "classic euros" (like the ones you have).

Is TM something I might like, Jeff, or is it "too" Euro? If it's like/as-good-as other Knizia games I've played (at least I think it's a Knizia, but I'm too lazy to check), count me in for sure.

Simon: Taj Mahal is a Knizia. It's much less "multi-player solitaire" than Puerto Rico or Princes of Florence. More of an area control and auction game with hand and resource management.
