Well, Eagle's inventory is being auctioned off (although given the rules, I suspect that the deal is 'wired' to a buyer already). The buyer may liquidate the games fairly cheaply. [Although the talk on the geek of 75,000 copies being warehoused strikes me as ludicrous].
And, of course, Struggle of Empire has fallen to about $30, and it's similar (like RRT vs AOS). I keep bringin SoE to monday night, you know.
Brian, you keep bringing it, but I haven't been bringing myself. Seriously, some of the original excitement I had when I heard the reprint was coming out kinda died. Partly I think it was because of a semi lackluster session report on COE with Ben (long time ago), and something you also mentioned once on SoE (too many cards to choose from, "something" else, etc).
I'd love to try it. This Monday though I "signed up" to do Pacific Victory with Ted....unless we start early around 4pm'ish, and be done before Ted arrives.
Perhaps, resurrecting the famous and successful "theme night" concept, we could have an Eagle Game Requiem Night, with SoE, RR Tycoon, and Conquest of the Empire 2 all hitting the table. I totally enjoyed CotE2 when we played it... of course it was one of the few times I've totally pounded both Jon (aka Baron von Backstab), so this may have added a slight boost to my positive review of the game.

You beat me to it. I was going to post this today.
I guess we'll never get the nice RR tycoon boards, and I'll probably take Conquest of the Empire off my wishlist.... or buy it before it disappears.
(Ben... which email do you use more? gmail or the other one?)

I use Gmail more... though I can't read it at work. Plus, I can get to Gmail when I'm out of town.
Hmmmm.... maybe now is the time to pick up SoE. We're like a pack of vultures!

It looks like they are still going to publish Age of Empires III (which seems to be creating some good buzz).
Here it is
Alas, it seems the Conquest of the Empire Expansion is doomed.
I was a fan of Napoleon in Europe. I also played the Milton Bradley version of Conquest about 20 years ago and would have liked to have seen the new.
Carlos, we can always play ben's new copy.

COE II and RR Tycoon are both excellent games. It's a shame, Eagle seemed to have turned a corner...
