As usual, 7pm'ish for me. I'll bring a new potential boardgamer from work...and Railroad Tycoon, maybe Louis XIV, some 2player backup game, and a block game.
It looks like the highlight of the night will be Duel of the Ages. sweet.
I've got an exam that night. So depending on how well I actually studied, I'll be there anywhere from 7:30-8:30.
Duel of Ages: 2-4 player game. Start time 7:00 PM. I'm thinking 4 platters for 2 hours total, with 8 characters per team.
I've just been solo-ing on Duel of Ages to get the mechanics. It looks pretty dang cool. I like the team thing. I've done about 6 turns or so and most folks have items. I'm in the process of trying to get the items into the hands of the best person.
I'll bring my Duel of Ages, a block game, and one or two shorter games: San Juan, Confrontation, etc
I'll try to get there about 6-6:30.
I have discovered that I don't like playing games with more than 5 people. It just gets too chaotic. I mention this because DoA claims you can play with 16(!), 2 teams of 8. No thanks.
My solo game has 4 platters with 6 per team (3/platter). I don't think you'd want to go less than this. I think the fun in the game is interaction. If you have less than about 3 people per platter on average you won't have enough interaction to be interesting.
I will be there between 6:30 and 7:00
I'll be there around 6 or so.
I can be there as early as people want to show up. So right now my plan is 6 unless someone says they will be there earlier.
I will also aim for 6pm.
I just re-read my comments about Duel of Ages, and I thought I should clarify the distinction between "players" and "characters". You want a good number of "characters", but too many players makes life chaotic.
Was that clear? I'm feeling a bit confused myself.
I'll go away now.
