On to Mass Effect 2....

Yep. After two years, I'm done. I have to say, just like the time it took me two years to play my first game of War of the Ring, I feel pretty silly. What a great game! ME1 was way, way better than Dragon Age, in my opinion. In a fit of geekiness I even picked up the ME1 soundtrack.

Anyhow.... I have ME2 loaded in the tray and ready to launch tonight. I expect it to be rudely interrupted by Red Dead Redemption next week, but I'm looking forward to continuing the ME story.

What is everyone else playing these days?

I've been telling ya...

If you liked ME1, ME2 is better and has a lot of great, sometimes subtle tie-ins to ME1. There's one mission in ME2 where you go by yourself, without any party members. You'll know it when you get there (I thought it was an error at first, but don't worry--there's no combat on the mission). Anyway, that mission is pretty poignant, especially for a video game. Tons of nice touches throughout, so take your time and enjoy the details. Get the new DLC mission for ME2 right away, since it gives you a new party member you can use in the rest of the game.

Of course, for those that weren't sold on ME1, ME2 won't change your mind, but we've been over that before.

Rock Band 3 gets it's formal reveal in a couple of weeks. I love the quote about "the invite for the event promises the game “will once again change the way people look at music video games.”" Someone followed with a comment saying "It won’t change the way I look at music video games until I can play the banjo, drum & cymbals all at once in a one-man band fashion." Priceless.

Not much gaming for me recently. I can't get too into Bioshock 2 or Dragon Age, so those are gathering dust...as are almost all my board games. My enthusiasm for board gaming has mostly died off, and I'm going to pare down to the bare essentials, since I'm not going to play 90% of them again. I'm sure I'll post a blurb when I get the auction list made.

UFC Undisputed 2010 demo came out right before I left for Louisiana, so I haven't had much chance to play it. Lets you play light heavyweights Lyoto Machida, Shogun Rua, Rampage Jackson, and Rashad Evans. Lots of improvements to the striking game, and Rampage has heavy, heavy hands.

Otherwise, the stuff Steve listed, plus *lots* of painting.

I've been playing IL-2, a really good WW2 flight sim. You can play the game in arcade mode and feel really good about your piloting skills, or you can play in sim mode and try to keep your plane in the air without stalling or spinning to your death, never mind the enemy gunners.

I also just acquired Fallout 3 for $10... Eventually I'll play Mass Effect as well... I've still never completed Bioshock.

Fallout 3 is fun.

Bioshock is next on my list after ME2, which is incredible so far. You have to love a game that makes you set down the controller and seriously think over a dialogue choice for several minutes before committing.

Its not too late to pre-order Red Dead Redemption...
