Viva Le Meetup...
Like I've said before, I don't mean to replace this blog with the meetup's page, but the last couple of months have proven that it is a great tool for recruting new gamers to the group. Just here off the top of my head, I know Mike S, Zach and his wife, Doug and Sandy, Andrew, Mark, and Adam (et al.) last night have been more than great additions to the group. If it weren't for them, our Monday nights would prob have about 4-5 showing per night (as opposed to as many as 19 like last night).
Awesome ...

Agreed. It's a great tool. We used this back in Sacramento with great success. Myonly concern is if we ever run out of space at Dragon's Lair relative to the other gaming going on there. If we ever run out of space, we can even consider identifying a local restaurant that doesn't get a lot of business on a certain night of the week and get permission to play there. Most folks invariably bought dinner while gaming, so it was a win-win.
yes, I'm most definitively interested in looking for such a place.
In Houston we had Fuddruckers on Sunday afternoons, and "Cafe Express" for weeknights. They were great! TONS of tables, and great food.
Any suggestions?
19 people? Wow. DL should give you a free game for bringing that many people to their store.
Any wargames played?
So as for the space issue. They have implemented this new table reservation space reservation rule. We have space as a standing game group. But we might wanna talk to them about making sure we have enough tabled or reserving more, if there will be that kind of turn out again.
