Labor Day Game Fest?
Is anyone available for some gaming on Monday? I know some of you have the day off. Jeff and I can host starting about 2pm. BTW, Jeff just got his copy of Roads and Boats in, and he's dying to play it. Other options will, of course, be available.
Nice picture! Unfortunately I won't be able to make it. Based on discussions at Dragon's Lair today, I think you're going to have a lot of takers though...
Seriously, I'm up for gaming on Labor Day. The only thing is, I think some in the group were looking into running some longer wargames that day (you guys are out there...was it 7 ages? SoR?).
I am once again itching for wargames (blocks, Shifting Sands, any), but I wouldn't mind sticking with euros.
We'd start earlier if I didn't have things to do around lunch time.
Michael had said he wanted in on R&B. Looks like Rob and Simon are claiming spots. That'd make a full game, but there's room for a simultaneous game of something else.
I think my wife will actually let me go so I could finally attend another SABG event but I don't know where this is; assuming it is ok that I come to this can somebody give me a location and directions? Scott Shacter (fairly new to the area and group) 210-408-0805 sashacter@yahoo.com
I was going to go into the DL at 10 and hope someone wasn't involved in a super long game of doom. I'll gladly cut out at 2 to relocate to some non-wargaming though. What's the overall consensus on the day's plans and scheduled games?
(Thanks to Brian, I do now own a copy of cult classic "Loopin' Louie." If anyone feels likes feeding guilty pleasures, I'll happily cart it along with my new regulars.)
Ok, sounds like we are meeting at 10am at DL, and then probably moving to Jeff's at 2pm?
If that is the case, I'd like to play Shifting Sands or any other blockgame (Wizard Kings, Hammer of the Scots, Rommel)in the morning. If no one steps up to the platter, then I'll just play any of the usual euros.
Jon, sounds good on War of the Ring (both tactical game or expansion game). I'm still interested in Roads & Boats, so my spot is sealed for now. Rob, are you still in on R&B?
I'm also up for block gaming before the 2pm deadline if anyone thinks a four player Wizard Kings campaign sounds like fun.
Since there's lots of interest in getting started at 10 am, let's just spend the whole day at Dragon's Lair instead of breaking up halfway through. Amy and I will bring R&B to DL around 2:00.

WK 2vs2 of 4 player royal rumble sounds cool, but I don't think there is that much interest in the game. So 1vs1 is cool too, specially with the new "scenario book" CG came out with.
Just thinking.... if there really aren't any takers for wargames, how about 3 or 4 player Arkham Horror? WoW would be cool too, but it may cut into R+B time.
Yeah, so after reading the rules to Roads & Boats, I've decided to give up my spot. You can have it Brian. I just got in my replacement parts for El Grande + expansions, so I think I'm gonna go with that instead.
Simon: I was going to say..... "what happened to not being into BIG games anymore?". It is a BIG euro. CRAP. EL Grande. Someday I'll play it.
Brian: Shifting Sands would be great (Jon has the pdf), but I'm sure it would cut into R+B's time (now, like you, if you twist my arm, I could do SS instead). That's why I was considering a ~2-3hr game like Arkham in the morning.
Brian: Third edition R&B comes with bits for four players, but it can support up to six. First and second editions came with five sets of player markers. I'm going to cobble together player markers for a fifth player.

Is anyone available for Monday...Hahaha!

Yeah, I think so. I'm in.
2pm is too late! :)

BTW...
1. Roads and Boats.... cool!
2. Nice pic. Makes me want to bite one down for some reason.

I'm open for gaming, and I'd like to try Roads and Boats. But perhaps an all-day affair at DL? Just greedy for game time, this one is.
Yes, I do want to verify my claimed spot. I also just assumed that we would be starting at 10am at d-lair while we wait for you to be ready.

Simon, if you dont want to get involved in an all day game we should play war of the ring with the expansion added into it.
I will bring my copy of War of the Ring and the expansion.
If someone backs out of Roads and Boats I will play it, I like Indonesia and would like to try that game.

Dude, I'm in for R+B.

So 10am at DL it is, with R+B at 2pm.

Count me in for whatever around 10.
Rob, I could be in for wargames, but I haven't seen the shifting sands rulebook online.
How many can R&B play?
Incidentally, I could certainly be talked into 7 Ages of something longer (and skipping R&B, which sounds full anyway)

What do you need for player markers? I've got most of a thousand cubes of various colors, spare poker chips (not the good ones), cards, etc...
Brian: I've got it covered. Thanks for the offer.
Session report? I was with you all in spirit throughout the day...
