SpielByWeb Anyone?

The discussions of Shogun/Wallenstein and Vassal in the other threads have got me wanting to game (more than usual). I can't make it to any real-life sessions anytime in the near future, so is anybody interested in playing anything on SpielByWeb?

We need to consolidate and decide on a single play-by-web engine!! ha. I'm interested - once the kids are in bed I usually have some free time... around 8pm-ish. What should we play?

Wow, when I saw that picture I was hoping Spiel by Web had Age of Empires 3. Oh well...

How about a game of Wallenstein? Its no Shogun, but still good.

Well, I'm not open just yet (gaming convention)! but I'll note that JKLM also has turn based games now.

I think I'll also be at the point where I could do a (war)game via ACTS or VASSAL later this month.

I'm always interested in CDGs via ACTS. I could do TS, WW, PoG, B2B, Hannibal...

I was looking for turn-based games. SpielByWeb or JKLM both work.

Vassal is my real-time online board game software of choice.

Amy's also interested in turn-based online gaming.

So... Amun-Re, Tikal, On the Underground, Wallenstein, Santiago, Phoenicia, Tulipmania 1637...

Anyone?

I've played Phoenicia and Tikal before, I'd do either of those. If anyone else has a favorite I'd be willing to look up some rules and learn.

I'd love to try Tulipmania... read the rules, have the client. Haven't played yet.

Jeff Amy Rob Sean Tiffany makes five.

We could start a game of Tikal (Amy would sit out; she's not up to playing two at once right now) and also start one of Tulipmania 1637 (I'd have to read rules for that one, but I definitely want to try it out)

Sounds good. I'll read the rules for Tulipmania. Are you going to set the games up, Ben?

D'oh! I left Ben and Brian off my list of potential players! My apologies guys.

Double D'oh!! The JKLM client is a PC program. We're a Mac household. I won't be able to participate in any JKLM games until tomorrow at work.

Amy has started a game of Tikal at SBW.

Game name: SABGer
Password: sabg

No problem, Jeff. I'll sit out this game, since I've never played Tikal before, and it looks like you have a full boat without me.

PBEM Twilight Struggle via ACTS anyone?

Is anyone else interested in playing Tikal right now? So far, just Tiffany and I have joined the game. Jeff's waiting to see if the other two slots will fill before he joins, but I think he plans on only waiting until late today to do such. I'd like to get this started today or first thing tomorrow, if possible. We can run with 2, 3, or 4 players.

My work computer won't let me install the JKLM client, so I'm out of luck.

Ben: If no one else takes you up on the TS offer, and if I can get ACTS up and running at home, I'll play.

Hey, I just noticed that La Citta is in testing at SpielByWeb! Mmm... La Citta...

Yummy La Citta....

I just started a game of Tulipmania. It's called "SABG here". I made it a 3 player game.

Checking on Tikal.....

Joined Tikal... I should probably read the rules again.

Jeff:

ACTS is a web interface, so it should be platform independent. That said, I find it works best (for me anyway) to track the board activity using Vassal or Cyberboard. ACTs just manages the cards and die rolling. For realtime play of TS, wwww.wargameroom.com looks pretty intriguing.

Wow....three full turns of Tikal in one day. Impressive. Lots of bored people at work out there.

BTW, I started a Tulipmania, and 2 guys joined...none of which I think are from SABG

It took some time, but I finally found "ACTS". However, I didn't find TulipMania on either Vassal or Acts. And I don't know how to play either.

Tulipmania is on JKLM. You have to download their client.
