Don't know why, but the idea of playing a hard-er core Railroad Tycoon has never really been appealing to me. But, I have to say, I'm intrigued by the latest Age of Steam expansion.

I am a big fan of RRT, but I have never played with anyone in the group. This is a perfect family fame for me, my wife and kids. That said, I have always heard that AoS is rather complex, so I ruled it out as a family game. I still have yet to play AoS but would love to try; expansion or not.

Rob, how are the gaming groups there?

Age of Steam isn't really more complicated than RRT, but it is:

a) Uglier (although I like the sparse charm, personally)
b) Much less forgiving

RRT is more of a family game.
