Gamefest, Monday, 21 Aug 2006
I thought it best to start a new post on top to coordinate the mega-game fest on Monday, 21 Aug 2006.
Plans so far are to play a 4-player game of Sword of Rome starting at 4:00 PM. Rob and I also have made plans to play the Rohan scenario of War of the Ring: Battles of the Third Age starting at around noon.
If you have the day off that day, please join us! If not, come over when you get off work. As always, the more the merrier.

Oh, we should definitely play with the alternate (recommended) CRT.
Yes. All the latest living rules, CRT, play aid, etc., are posted on ConsimWorld.
I have the pdf of SoR sitting on my desktop waiting to be read. I'll work on it this weekend.
I have a few days off before I start student teaching, so I can hang out most of the day on Monday.
Unfortunately, my copy of Blue Moon City won't arrive at my door until late Monday afternoon...
If other folks are going to show, I'd recommend RSVPing so we don't plan something that will exclude someone. My brain has reached almost critical mass in its rule absorption capacity over the past couple weeks, so I don't want to study any extra rules unnecessarily!
I will be there within 20 minutes of the doors opening. I'm busing it up so I can't give an exact arrival time.
Is anyone coming that isn't playing in the SoR game? I was thinking about coming early, but only if I have a least one other partner to game with...
I've got lots of good two player stuff if anyone's interested.
Here's what I know:
I'm assuming that SoR will be Brian, Ben, me and Jonathan.
Close to noon, Ben and I will do Battles of the third Age.
Michael, you are going to be there at 10:20am?
Hmm....I also have a couple of 2player games I'd like to play: LOTR Confrontation (yes, I still like it), Battle Line (haven't played in a long time), Jambo (just got it and haven't played), and Senjutsu (have only played once).
Simon: It appears that Chad and I are both non SoR people that will be there early.
BTW, I'm surprised by how well-written the SoR manual is. I don't have the map; all I'm reviewing is the manual and still I feel like I'm "getting it".....I think.
Gives me hope that For the people (~30 page manual with similar font and structure) will be actually doable.
It helps that the rules are going on version 1.4. One thing that helped me (besides having the game in front of me) was firing up the Vassal module for SoR and studying the map as I went through the examples of play. The session report journals over at ACTS are good too.
